Join us for an interactive evening exploring female self-pleasure. We value many ways and environments for learning and exploring sexuality. This women's only event is a response to an often requested kind of space for women to openly discuss and connect around their personal sexual practices and desires.
Sometimes called "the grandmother of masturbation," Betty Dodson wrote Sex for One, followed by Orgasms for Two, and in the 1970s began running sexuality workshops for women. Filmed in September 2011 in New York City, with Portland resident Marisa Black, Bodysex is a current snapshot of sex-positive feminist history, a practical resource for bodylove and sexual liberation, and a groundbreaking look into communal erotic learning.
In the Bodysex film, similar to the workshops, a small group of women gather naked in a circle, sharing stories of their bodies and orgasms, each revealing the landscape of their genitals, and practice various masturbation techniques. This event will weave together portions of the film with group discussion to explore topics of sexuality, orgasm, masturbation, body image, and pleasure.
Co-facilitated by Marisa Black, film participant, and Eva Blake, Sexuality Educator and Coach. Eva Blake teaches erotic and emotional skills to people who are hungry to live sexually fulfilling lives. Marisa Black writes and edits in a variety of genres for both pleasure and profession.
